Subordination
A subordinate rule , also called subordinate rule , is a judicial rule whose owner, the subordinate , was more or less independent of the sovereign in his area , without being directly imperial .
In a purely geographical sense, the term was used in relation to the two Schwarzburg principalities in Thuringia : Schwarzburg-Sondershäuser Unterherrschaft referred to the entirety of the territorial possessions in northern Thuringia, while Schwarzburg Oberherrschaft referred to the family's possessions in southern Thuringia.
