With documents (usually in the plural, see also: base ) refers to information that the execution of certain tasks documented.
These tasks are, for example, the business and activities of authorities , companies , associations , families or individuals .
The form and the carrier of the information play no role in the definition of the term "document". Documents can, for example, be in the form of analog or digital individual documents , files , databases , gray literature , websites , documents , maps , data or file collections , photos or videos. Usually paper or digital data carriers act as information carriers .
