The Uoshima Islands ( Japanese 魚 島 群島 , Uoshima-guntō ) are a Japanese group of islands in the central Seto Inland Sea . To the south is the Hiuchi-nada marine region and to the north is Bingo-nada with the Hashirijima Islands in the northeast and the Geiyo Islands in the northwest.

On the Uoshima Islands, ceramics from the Yayoi period (5th century BC to 3rd century AD) were found, which already suggest a settlement at this epoch and for the 5th / 6th centuries . There are traces of religious ceremonies in the 19th century. During the Muromachi period they were a naval base of the Murakami family ( Murakami Suigun ) and served as a place of exile in the Edo period because of their remote location.

The archipelago belongs to the district of Uoshima, which was incorporated into Kamijima in October 2004 in the district of Ochi ( 越 E ), Ehime prefecture .
