Neptune Island is an island off the Ingrid Christensen coast of Princess Elisabeth Land in East Antarctica . It belongs to the Rauer Islands and is remote from the other islands in the group southwest of Neptune Island in the Buhta Russkogo Soldata , a side bay of Prydz Bay .
Australian scientists named it because of its remoteness after Uranus , the seventh planet in the solar system.
