Urea Reduction Ratio

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Urea Reduction Ratio ( URR ) is a parameter to determine the dialysis effectiveness and an essential component for the assessment of the dialysis efficiency. Another parameter to this assessment is the Kt / V .

The value can be given by the formula

be determined.

It is

  • U pre urea level before dialysis
  • U post urea after dialysis

With hemodialysis (three times / week), a URR of 65% should be achieved. This corresponds to a Kt / V of 1.2. If dialysis is performed more than three times a week, this value can also be lower.
