Myski ( Russian Мыски , scho driven Томазақ) is a town in the Kemerovo Oblast ( Russia ) with 43 038 inhabitants (14 October 2010).
geography
The city is located in the south-eastern part of the Kuzbass , about 50 km east of Novokuznetsk , on the Mras-Su river near its confluence with the Tom . The climate is continental.
The city of Myski is administratively directly subordinate to the oblast. The city is subordinate to 14 villages with a total of 2613 inhabitants, so that the total population of the administrative unit "City of Myski" is 44,520 (2009 calculation).
Myski lies on the Novokuznetsk - Abakan railway line , the so-called South Siberian Railway (Yushsib).
history
Myski arose around 1826 from a Shoric settlement on the headland (Russian мыс / mys) at the mouth of the Mrassu in the Tom. The place was also called Myssovskaya (Мысовская) or Berjosowy Mys (Берёзовый Мыс). In 1956 he received town charter.

economy
The city's economy is determined by coal mining ( Sibirga / Сибирга) and the wood processing industry. The Tom-Ussa Thermal Power Plant (Томь-Усинская ГРЭС / Tom-Ussinskaja GRES) is located in the western part of the city .
