Gramoteino ( Russian Грамотеино ) is an urban-type settlement in Kemerovo Oblast ( Russia ) with 12,996 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The settlement is located on the eastern flank of the Salair ridge in the west of the Kuznetsk Basin (Kuzbass), almost 100 km as the crow flies south of the Oblast capital Kemerovo, mainly on the right bank of the Ob tributary Inja .

Gramoteino belongs to the city district Belovo and lies about 15 km north of the center of the city Belovo.

history

In place of today's settlement, the village of Gramotejewa has been known since the 18th century , named after the family name Gramotejew, which is widespread in the region .

In connection with the development of the hard coal deposits of the Kuzbass, a mining settlement was established in the 1940s, which in 1952 was given the status of an urban-type settlement under its current name.

Sports

The local soccer club Gornjak Gramoteino played in the Russian 2nd division in 1992 and 1993 .

Economy and Infrastructure

The most important companies are the Listwjaschnaja and Gramoteinskaja coal mines , whose pits are to the east and north-east of the town, as well as connected factories for the further processing of the coal.

The closest train station is Meret about 4 km west on the Novosibirsk  - Novokuznetsk route . From there, freight connections lead to the settlement's mining operations. The Kemerovo - Leninsk-Kuznetsky  - Novokuznetsk regional road bypasses the town to the west.
