Tjaschinski ( Russian Тяжи́нский ) is an urban-type settlement in the Kemerovo Oblast ( Russia ) with 11,120 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The settlement is located in the area of ​​the transition from the northeastern foothills of the Kuznetsk Alatau to the southeastern part of the West Siberian lowlands , about 175 kilometers as the crow flies northeast of the oblast capital, Kemerovo . A few kilometers east of Tjaschinski flows the eponymous Tjashin, a right tributary of the Kija .

Tyaschinsky is the administrative center of the Tyaschinsky Rajon of the same name .

history

The place was founded in 1894 in connection with the construction of the Central Siberian section of the Trans-Siberian Railway , which connected the Ob (now Novosibirsk ) via Krasnoyarsk with Irkutsk .

In 1958, Tyashinsky was given urban-type settlement status .

The settlement has had a small Rayon local museum since 1998 .

Economy and Infrastructure

In Tjaschinsky there are forestry and food industries that process products from the surrounding agricultural area.

The place is on the Trans-Siberian Railway (station name Tjashin ; route kilometers 3773 from Moscow ). The M53 Novosibirsk – Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk road bypasses Tyaschinsky to the north. From this a regional road branches off, which leads via the neighboring district administration center Tissul into the (former) gold mining area around Berikulski on the upper reaches of the Kija in Kuznetsk Alatau.
