Polyssajewo ( Russian Полысаево ) is a city in the Russian Oblast Kemerovo ( Western Siberia ) with 27,624 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The city is located in the central part of the Kuzbass , about 140 km south of the oblast capital Kemerovo and only 5 km southeast of Leninsk-Kuznetsky , on the Inja river . The climate is continental.

The city of Polyssayevo is administratively directly subordinate to the oblast. Two villages with a total of 3124 inhabitants are subordinate to the city, so that the total number of inhabitants of the administrative unit “City of Polyssajewo” is 30,966 (2009 calculation).

Polyssayevo is located on the railway line from Jurga on the Trans-Siberian Railway to Novokuznetsk, which was opened on this section in 1926 . Since 1934 there has been a railway line to Novosibirsk from the Projektnaya (Проектная) station a few kilometers to the south .

history

Polyssayevo was founded in 1952 as an urban-type miners' settlement , administered by the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky. On October 30, 1989, the place was separated from Leninsk-Kuznetsk and received an independent town charter.

In addition to hard coal mining with the Oktjabrskaja (Октябрьская) and Polyssajewskaja (Полысаевская) shafts and the Mochowski opencast mine (Моховский), the building materials industry is represented with a factory for precast concrete parts.
