Krapiwinski ( Russian Крапи́винский ) is an urban-type settlement in the Kemerovo Oblast in Russia with 7450 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is 60 km as the crow flies southeast of the Kemerovo Oblast Administrative Center on the northeastern edge of the Kuznetsk Basin (Kuzbass). It is located on the left bank of the Tom River .

Krapiwinski is the administrative center Rajons Krapiwinski and seat of the municipality Krapiwinskoje gorodskoje posselenije, among which also the village Fomicha (6 km north-east on the right bank of the Tom). Krapiwinski is also the seat of the rural community Krapivinskoje selskoje posselenije with the villages Meschdugornoje (8 km south) and Poperetschnoje (15 km south) and the settlement Kamenny (8 km southwest).

history

The place was founded in 1732 as Krapiwino . Even before the center of a Volost , Krapiwino became the administrative seat of a Rajon named after him in 1924. Since 1958 it has had the status of an urban-type settlement under its current name.

The regional road 32K-107 leads to Krapiwinski, which  branches off 30 km to the west near the village of Panfilowo from the 32R-67 Novosibirsk  - Leninsk-Kuznetsky - Kemerovo. There is also a connection to the 32K-593, the so far completed section of the motorway through the Kuzbass from Kemerovo. From Krapiwinski further up the Tom in an easterly direction to the settlement of Zelenogorski , the 32K-115 runs.
