Economy and Infrastructure

The main economic factor is hard coal mining in the Krasnobrodski opencast mine, which extends to the north and east of the settlement (joined with the Nowosergejewski opencast mine since 1991 ), which is now operated by the Kuzbassrasresugol AG (OAO) . In 2008 a good 6.5 million tons of coal were mined, making the open pit mine the company's third largest. There are also companies in the construction and building materials industry ( gravel ).

The nearest train station is Trudarmeiskaya about 5 km southwest. Artyschta, a good 10 km to the west and belonging to the city district, is an important railway junction with the large Artyschta-2 station and the smaller Artyschta-1 and Kuzbass . This is where the Novosibirsk  - Novokuznetsk line, completed in 1933, joins the western section of the "South Siberian Railway" from Barnaul ( Altaiskaya ), which was built between 1946 and 1951 . An alternative route to Novokuznetsk, which was completed in the 1980s, branches off to the east, bypassing the conurbation around Kisseljowsk and Prokopjewsk and opening up the southern eastern part of the Kuzbass. All routes are electrified .

The regional road Kemerowo - Leninsk-Kuznetsky  - Novokuznetsk, which has been built in sections to resemble a motorway and is newly routed, passes Krasnobrodski to the east.
