Viktor Viktorovich Solodov ( Russian: Виктор Викторович Солодов ; born June 15, 1962 in Myski , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a former Soviet weightlifter .

Career

Solodov's relatively short international career began with the European and World Championships in Moscow in 1983 , where he was middle-heavyweight up to 90 kg with 185.0 kg in snatch, 225.0 kg in jerk and thus 410.0 kg in a duel, three silver medals each behind Blagoj Blagoew won with 417.5 kg. In the fourth shock attempt, Solodow managed 230.0 kg and thus achieved his first world record .

A year later he was denied participation in the Olympic Games due to the Olympic boycott of the Soviet Union. Before that, he finished second at the European Championships in Vitoria and set a new world record in pushing at 232.5 kg. At the alternative games of friendship in Varna he won his class ahead of Blagoew with a two-way world record of 422.5 kg and another world record in jerking of 233.0 kg.

In 1985 he won the European Championship in Katowice with 402.5 kg in a duel . He also won the World Championships in Södertälje with 395.0 kg (177.5 kg / 217.5 kg), ahead of Kazakhs Anatoli Chrapaty , who lifted exactly the same loads but was heavier.

His last international competitions played Solodow 1986. He finished second at the European Championships in Karl-Marx-Stadt with 395.0 kg, second place, this time behind Chrapaty, who achieved 410.0 kg. At the world championship in the same year he remained behind Chrapaty with 412.5 kg in a duel (180.0 kg / 227.5 kg) with 407.5 kg.
