Alexander Andrijenko comes from the Siberian Kemerovo Oblast , where he started skiing at the age of three. Andrijenko lives in Kaluga and studied public administration at RANEPA .

At the age of 15 he competed in his first FIS races in Russia . In February 2007 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Jaca , where he finished 22nd and 26th in giant slalom and slalom. At his first Junior World Championship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he finished downhill and slalom in 45th and 34th places. A year later, he classified himself in all five disciplines at his second JWM competition in France and achieved eighth place in the super combined as the best result . After several winters at FIS level, he entered the European Cup in December 2011 , in which he has so far placed five times in the top ten.

On October 26, 2014, he made his World Cup debut in the giant slalom in Sölden . At his second World Championships in Vail , he was eliminated in the first round of giant slalom and slalom. Towards the end of the season, he qualified for a second run in the Garmisch giant slalom for the first time, but did not win any points due to the lack of time. Two years later he succeeded in doing this in the same place with 16th place. After finishing the World Championship in St. Moritz with 29th place in slalom, he was crowned Russian giant slalom champion for the first time in March 2017 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk . In December 2017, in Alta Badia , he achieved his current best World Cup result with rank 15.
