Ursula Apel

Ursula Apel , b. Berbig (born December 22, 1938 in Schwabach ) is a German Hermann Hesse researcher.

Life

Ursula Apel's life achievement consists in writing a reference work on the literary work of Hermann Hesse. Together with a supplement in 1993, there were three volumes under the title Hermann Hesse - People and Key Figures in His Life . The volumes deal with around 7000 names - with annotations - of contact persons for Hermann Hesse and are a treasure trove of cross-references for anyone interested in Hesse. As far as there are gaps, the author continuously adds to her reference work.

Ursula Apel is married to Herfried Apel and has three children.

Award

Ursula Apel received the Hermann Hesse Medal from the city of Calw for her life's work in 2000 . She donated her archive materials to Hermann Hesse's native town, thereby significantly enriching the local archive.
