Urumaco is a village in the Venezuelan state of Falcón , 75 kilometers west of Coro . According to estimates by the Universidad de los Andes, it had around 5,107 inhabitants in 2010 .
Urumaco is the administrative seat of the district of the same name. The village is connected by National Road 3 with Dabajuro and Maracaibo in the west and with Coro in the east.
Attractions
Urumaco has a paleontological museum. There are Native American petroglyphs nearby and an important fossil site from the Miocene . These included finds of three-meter-long shells of giant tortoises as well as bones of 500 kg rodents and 11-meter-long crocodiles.
