Uta is a German television series from 1982. In twelve episodes, each 25 minutes long, the story of Uta Kaiser is told, a young professional at a fictional Hamburg welfare center who is on her way to being a family carer but who ultimately believes the stresses and strains of Not being up to the job and quitting after her year of recognition. The idea generator and later also the author of most of the scripts was Barbara Zachay, who was able to fall back on her own professional experience and later worked as Barbara Piazza scripts a. a. wrote for Lindenstrasse . Directed by Detlef Rönfeldt .

The title role of Uta Kaiser was taken on by Claudia Demarmels , who had become known shortly before through the female lead in the movie Theo Against the Rest of the World at the side of Marius Müller-Westernhagen . In addition, the following played in continuous roles: Witta Pohl , Hans Häckermann , Till Topf , Daniel Lüönd and Eva Maria Bauer , who later celebrated great success as "Head Nurse Hildegard" in the Black Forest Clinic .
