The Utladalen is the deepest valley in Norway . It is located in the Årdal municipality in the Vestland province . The valley is about 40 km long and surrounded by 50 peaks higher than 2000 m. The Utla flows through the valley, starting at Vettisfossen, Northern Europe's deepest unregulated waterfall, and flowing into the Årdalsvatnet .
