Uwe-Peter Lestin

Uwe-Peter Lestin (born September 8, 1943 in Lüchow ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After graduating from high school, Lestin studied to become a teacher at primary and secondary schools in Lüneburg. From 1968 to 1972 he was a teacher at a school in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district , then until 1981 headmaster in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district and then head of a primary school in Braunschweig until he was elected to the state parliament.

politics

Lestin has been a member of the SPD since 1971. He has been a councilor since 1986 and mayor of the Schwülper community since 1990 . In addition, he has been a member of the Papenteich Samtgemeinde council since 1986 and was mayor there from 1991 to 2004. In addition, he has been a member of the Gifhorn district council since 1996 and was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1998 to 2008 .
