Uzungöl (German: "long lake") is a lake in the Çaykara district of the Trabzon province in Turkey . The name of the village on the coast of the lake is also Uzungöl. The lake is located at a distance of 99 km to downtown Trabzon and 19 km to downtown Çaykara. It was created by a landslide that turned the creek bed into a damming lake in the valley of the Haldizen creek.
The lake, located between high mountains, attracts numerous tourists, so hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops have opened. In addition, a concrete wall was built along the shore of the lake in 2008 to prevent the waves from damaging the surrounding roads. This caused much controversy among locals and ecologists.
