Çaykara is a Turkish city and district in the Trabzon Province . The city is located about 55 km southeast of the provincial capital Trabzon .
The district of Çaykara borders in the southwest on the province of Gümüşhane , in the south on the province of Bayburt and in the southeast on the province of Rize . One of the main attractions of Çaykara is Lake Uzungöl . The Solaklı Çayı River flows through the district in a northerly direction.
