Västra Vätterleden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Västra Vätterleden is a Swedish hiking trail in the province of Västergötland , which runs along the western shore of Lake Vättersee from Mullsjö in the south to Granvik in the north. The hiking trail, which is part of the European long-distance hiking trail E1, is 148 kilometers long and divided into 8 stages.

The hiking trail leads through several nature reserves. Two branches in the form of circular trails open up Undenäs (14 km) and Rankås (35 km). There are resting / tent sites with a windbreak hut and fireplace at sufficient intervals. The map material was revised in 2008/2009 and is now available online.

The hiking trail is connected to the Bergslag Trail in the north and the Södra Vätterleden in the south and the E1 towards Gothenburg.

When hiking on the Västra Vätterleden, the Allemansrätten must be observed.
