The Vélodrome Couvert Régional Jean Stablinski is a hall with a cycling track in Roubaix in northern France . The sports facility opened in September 2012 and is located next to the Roubaix open cycle track , where the Paris – Roubaix race traditionally ends. The velodrome is named after the French cyclist and road world champion Jean Stablinski .
The planning for a new 250-meter-long cycle track with a hall began in 2008. The project manager was the former French world-class sprinter Arnaud Tournant , who was also in charge of the track from 2012 to 2014. The total cost of construction was 25 million euros. Next to the hall is a terrain with a slope for BMX races. The interior of the Velodrome is also intended for badminton tournaments. The Velodrome has a capacity of 3300 spectators, 1500 of them in the grandstands. The velodrome is intended as the center of a national training center.
The Vélodrome Couvert Régional Jean Stablinski (short: Stab Vélodrome or le Stab ) was opened on September 15, 2012. The first driver to officially use the train was Jean Stablinski's grandson, Alexis. In 2013 the French rail championships were held there.
