history

VEB Dampferzeugerbau Berlin was founded in 1953 as a spin-off from VEB Bergmann-Borsig . It already had 3,000 employees in the year it was founded. The production profile included steam generator systems and other power plants. The company was involved in many power plant equipment in the GDR, such as B. at the old Lippendorf power station , but also fulfilled export tasks. It had its own development department for computer technology , which was integrated in the Robotron combine . He was responsible for the development of the CP / M -compatible operating system DAC , which was used on the Robotron computers A5120 , K8924 and PC1715 .

Development after 1990

  • In 1991 the company was privatized and renamed Dampferzeugerbau Berlin GmbH .
  • In 1993 Babcock Lentjes Kraftwerkstechnik GmbH was founded. The companies Lentjes and Deutsche Babcock were involved in the company with 1000 employees .
