from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VEB Noremat Nossen was a factory for components of the control engineering and automation in the GDR.

The "Wagner and Sons" scale factory was founded in Nossen as early as 1871, followed by a scale factory owned by the Werbig brothers in 1890, which was able to produce successfully until it was expropriated in 1946. The operation was continued as Nossner Waagenfabrik (NOWA) - as Plant II (Nossen) of the Oschatzer Waagenfabrik (OWA). Mainly decimal and household scales were produced .

At the beginning of the 1960s, the production range was changed and there was a significant expansion. In the course of the formation of Kombinaten in 1979, it was connected to VE Kombinat Elektro-Apparate-Werke "Friedrich Ebert" Berlin.

Were produced ESER -Systemeinschubeinheiten and cabinets (Unified system of electronic computing equipment) as well as metal bellows as a single- or multi-walled couplings between fluid-carrying conduits.

The first plant manager was Becker, the technical manager / production director Dieter Richter, the chief accountant Rolf Hänsgen and the personnel manager Engmann. The last manager up until the fall of the Berlin Wall was Günter Janousek, the party secretary was Egon Leistner.

After the reunification, the company was privatized. A company for building products operates under the name Noremat GmbH. Metal bellows are produced by FLEXOMAT GmbH in the Heynitz-Lehden industrial park on a much smaller scale.
