The VKT Line or Viipuri-Kuparsaari-Taipale Line (Finnish: VKT-linja, Swedish: VKT-Linjen) was a Finnish line of defense on the Karelian Isthmus during the Continuation War and reached from Viipuri (Vyborg) via Tali and Kuparsaari on the north bank of the Vuoksi River, Suvanto and Taipaleenjoki to Taipale on the west bank of Lake Ladoga , taking advantage of the natural advantages of the eastern part of the destroyed Mannerheim Line .

As early as June 20, 1944, troops of the Soviet 21st Army had broken into the right section of the VKT line during the Vyborg-Petrozavodsk operation with the capture of Vyborg. In the battle of Tali-Ihantala (June 27th - July 9th), which was set to the east , the offensive of the Soviet 23rd Army was stopped by the Finns. From July 7, the focus of the Soviet attacks shifted to the Vuoksi River, where the Soviet 23rd Army succeeded in building a bridgehead on the VKT line near Vuosalmi. It was not until the armistice on September 2 that the Finns generally withdrew to the Salpa Line.
