Health Care Day

The day of health care was a special day in the German Democratic Republic . This special day for employees in the GDR's health care system was celebrated annually on December 11th, Robert Koch's birthday . On December 16, 1960, the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) decided:

Every year, on Health Care Day, outstanding doctors, pharmacists and health care workers were honored.
