VR series Dr12
On January 1, 1976, there was a change in the Finnish series system. In the course of this change, the series was now referred to as the VR series Dr12 .
VR series Dr15
In January 1980 a Dr12 was converted on a trial basis and classified as the Dr15 series with the number 2439. This conversion was unsatisfactory, so the 2439 remained a unique piece that was taken out of service in 1984. Instead of converting the Dr12, VR decided to purchase the Dr16 series from 1985.
Preserved locomotives
Two machines have been preserved in a museum. These are 2241 in Toijalan Veturimuseo (Toijala Lokomotivmuseum) and 2216 in Haapamäki.
