Vagn Buchwald

Vagn Fabritius Buchwald (born June 23, 1929 in Frederiksberg ) is a Danish meteorite researcher who found the large meteorite Agpalilik in Greenland .

Life

With a PhD in engineering, Vagn Buchwald was a lecturer in metallurgy at Denmark's Technical University in Lyngby and is an expert on antique metal objects. The mineral Buchwaldite , discovered in the Agpalilik meteorite, was named after him. In 1963 he presented an overview of all then known fragments of the Cape York meteorite together, the largest after Agpalilik object was Savik I .
