Vahid Karavelic

Vahid Karavelić (born April 7, 1956 in Brezovik near Visoko , Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a former general of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina , as well as the later Army of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . Karavelić was one of the commanders of the 1st Corps Sarajevo during the Bosnian War .

He was a former officer in the Yugoslav People's Army and later a prisoner of war. During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina he rose from a simple brigade commander to commander of the 1st Corps Sarajevo.

For his achievements he was awarded the golden coat of arms with swords.
