architecture
The building, covered by numerous wind domes in the brick vaults and supported by 74 well-proportioned arches, extends over 800 m and is considered a masterpiece of Persian architecture. You will find the largest range of spices , carpets , copper crafts and antiques in the city .
There are caravanserais , bathhouses and courtyards in the bazaar . A vaulted intersection separates the main bazaar from its east and west wings. Some of the sales niches were destroyed in the east extension of Zand Avenue in Shiraz.
As is usual with bazaars in the Near and Middle East , there are some mosques and Imamzadehs in the immediate vicinity, for example the Vakil Mosque, which covers a total area of 10,000 m² and was completed as a magnificent building in 1773 under Karim Khan .
