Valentin Christoph A. Bauer (born April 13, 1994 in Vienna ) is an Austrian basketball player .

career

Bauer made the jump from the youth department to the professional squad at BK Klosterneuburg , in 2012 he was Austrian champion with the team, and cup and Supercup winner the following year.

The playmaker began studying in the United States in 2013 , which lasted four years. During this time he also played basketball for the respective university teams: During the season at Cuesta College in the state of California , from 2014 to 2017 at Mars Hill University in North Carolina . Bauer had the statistically best season of his time in the USA in 2016/17 when he scored an average of 8.3 points, 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per encounter in 27 games for Mars Hill (second NCAA division).

In the summer of 2017, he returned to the Bundesliga for BK Klosterneuburg.

National team

With the Austrian U16, U18 and U20 national teams, he took part in B European Championships, at the U16 B European Championship in summer 2010 he was the second best thrower of the Austrian selection with 14.1 points per game, as well as in the U18 B- EM 2012 when he averaged 11.5 points. At the U20-B-EM in summer 2014, he led Austria with 10.5 points per game.

In summer 2017 he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time.
