Valerius Citus

Valerius Citus (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman army living in the 2nd or 3rd century AD .

A dedicatory inscription which was found near Böckingen and which is dated 151/250, shows that Citus Centurio was the Legio VIII Augusta . The inscription also shows that he was the commander ( qui praeest ) of the Cohors I Helvetiorum , which at that time was stationed in the province of Germania superior .
