Valerius Fronto

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Valerius Fronto (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A dedicatory inscription found at the Lavatrae fort and dated 197/198 shows that Fronto was prefect of the Ala Vettonum , which was stationed in the province of Britannia at that time . The inscription shows that the Cohors I Thracum restored the balnearium to the fort, which had been damaged by fire and that the work was carried out under the supervision of Fronto.
