Association of German Interior Architects

The Association of German Interior Architects bdia e. V. , or bdia for short , is an association of freelance and employed interior designers in Germany. The bdia is organized federally in local and regional groups and in state associations, which are united under the umbrella of the bdia federal association based in Berlin .

Membership is usually open to registered interior designers of a chamber of architects . In addition, extraordinary, associated and student members can be accepted. The bdia is the professional representation of its members, which was founded in 1952. The bdia campaigns for their concerns in public and vis-à-vis business and politics.

The organs of the bdia are the general assembly, the executive committee, the Federal Council, the regional associations and the finance committee. Pia A. Döll from Frankfurt am Main has been President since November 2019.

There are partnerships with the European umbrella organization “The European Council of Interior Architects” (ECIA) based in Brussels and “The International Federation of Interior Architects / Designers” (IFI) based in New York .

The bdia awards the German Interior Architecture Prize .
