The Valle Corto (Spanish for Short Valley ) is a valley on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies north of the Cerro El Jardín and is the shortest connection between the east and west sides of Cape Shirreff at the northern end of the John Paul II peninsula .
Scientists of the 45th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1990–1991) gave it its descriptive name.
