Vallis Inghirami is a lunar valley on the southwestern edge of the lunar front . It extends from the eponymous crater Inghirami to the northwest towards the Mare Orientale , as do the nearby lunar valleys Vallis Baade and Vallis Bouvard . The structure, which shows features of an extensive, cooled lava flow , extends over a length of nearly 150 kilometers, with the flow being over 50 kilometers wide at the base. It ends near Bouvard G crater .
The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Inghirami crater, which in turn is named after the Italian astronomer Giovanni Inghirami .
