Valrhona (named after the Rhone Valley , vallée du Rhône ) is a medium-sized manufacturer of cocoa products such as chocolate bars , couverture and pralines , including single-variety chocolate bars from certain cocoa-growing regions with vintage information ("Chocolats de Domaine").

The company, based in Tain-l'Hermitage in the Drôme department in France , was founded in 1922 by confectioner Alberic Guironnet. It only supplies its products to selected delis, restaurants and confectioneries. Around half of the production is exported.
