content
Princess Sakura lives alone on a lonely, small mountain estate. She never knew her parents and her brother recently died of a pandemic. Since she lives there alone, the people in the village speak badly of her. When she learns that the prince will pick her up so that she can marry, she runs away. When she wanders around in the forest and looks into the full moon, Yokos notice her. She is given the power to summon the magical sword Chizakura, which she can use to kill Yokos. Byakuya, her shaman, tells her that she is the granddaughter of the moon princess Kaguya and that only she has the power to kill the man-eating yokos. However, she loves Aoba, the prince, and has to fight for him too.
Characters
- Princess Sakura
- the main character of the story. She is the granddaughter of the legendary moon princess Kaguya and can banish yokos, man-eating, immortal beings with her sword Chizakura. Her mother became a yoko herself and was killed. Your sign of life is "destruction". She loves Aoba.
- Byakuya
- Byakuya is a shaman and always keeps a close eye on Sakura. She gives the princess the power to call the sword Chizakura.
- Prince Ora
- Prince Ora has been engaged to Sakura since he was three years old. She still calls him by the first name Aoba. He and his warriors initially wanted to kill Sakura because she might become a yoko herself. He's giving her a chance though. He can turn into a wolf. His sign of life is "life".
- Asagiri
- Asagiri is a snow woman who comes in two forms. She is Sakura's best friend and is very small. She takes care of Sakura and has the art of transformation. Actually she is a snow woman who drank the blood of a Thumbnail . Your sign of life is "goodness". She loves ukyo.
- Kohaku
- Kohaku is the strongest shinobi in her home village and wants to become head of the clan. She found Princess Sakura when an arrow was shot through her chest and nursed her. Originally supposed to catch Sakura, she defied this order and has been Sakura's friend ever since. She is a natural talent in transforming magic, but also very clumsy. She accidentally turned Hayate into a frog.
- Hayate
- According to Kohaku, he is no stronger than she is. When a transformation spell went wrong, he turned into a frog. Even after counter-spells and potions, he remained in this awkward shape. He only transforms back to a human when the moon is full. He is in love with Kohaku.
- Enju (Kai)
- He is Sakura's big brother who she thought was dead. His previous name was Kai. He was betrayed by the emperor and was killed again and again as soon as he had regenerated. Through the many pains and deaths he went mad and hates people deeply. He left humanity behind with his name. Since then he has been the ice-cold and intelligent Enju. He has had magical powers since he drank moon spring water.
- Oumi

- Rurijo
- She is a human being created by Enju. It was once a cursed stone that lived on the life energy of others. Since it is carved from elm wood, it has to fill up with water once a day. She says that you will never really love her as a "cheap copy" and hates Sakura for the fact that she gets all the attention of Enju because she is in love with him. Your sign of life is unknown.
- Ukyo
- He was Asagiri's lover. When she destroyed her village and disappeared, he joined Enju and became immortal too. He died trying to protect Asagiri and Princess Sakura from Enju. His sign of life was "truth".
- Shuri
- He was a shinobi before he was banished, and Kohaku and Hayate's childhood friend. Together with his brother he got a secret assignment to spy on the moon creatures (Enju and Co.) and killed his brother in the process. He then also joined Enju and became immortal. He is in love with Kohaku.
- Maimai (Den)
- He also belongs to Enju and looks like a girl - long hair and dresses. He met Enju when he was about to destroy his village and joined him. Then he destroyed his village himself, including his great love Mai. In reality it is called Dendenmushi (means something like snail). For him, beauty is the most important thing in life. His sign of life is "beauty".
- Yuri
- Like Sakura, she is a princess and loves beautiful things (especially herself). She wants to be Aoba's second wife, but neither he nor Sakura are enthusiastic about it. In order to still achieve her goal, she doesn't shy away from playing unfairly. However, when Furimurasaki proposes to her, she leaves them alone. Yuri's sign of life is just like her brother's "beauty".
