Vanessa Baden Kelly

Vanessa Baden Kelly (* 8. September 1985 as Vanessa Jennifer Baden ) is an American actress and screenwriter . She worked as a child actress in series for the broadcaster Nickelodeon and gained international fame in the sitcom Kenan & Kel . As an adult, she received a Daytime Emmy Award for her role in the web series Giants .

Career

Vanessa Baden began taking acting and modeling lessons at the age of four and got her first jobs as a photo model for commercials. In 1994 and 1995 she starred in two episodes of the Nickelodeon series My Brother and Me . Also in 1994 she was cast for a lead role on the television series Gullah Gullah Island , which aired four seasons through 1998. From 1996 to 2000 she was part of the cast of the sitcom Kenan & Kel , where she played the role of Kenan's little sister as Kyra Rockmore. She also had a small role in John Singleton's drama Rosewood Burning in 1997 .

After her Nickelodeon career, Vanessa Baden had a long absence from acting, in which she studied at Florida State University and married the musician RJ Kelly, with whom she has a son.

From 2017 Vanessa Baden Kelly was seen as a journee in the web series Giants , for which she also works as a writer and producer. In this role she won a Daytime Emmy in the category Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series in 2019 .
