Varahun

The Varahun was an Indian weight in the Madras Presidency of the United Kingdom and was called the Malabar weight by the English . This included the Gursay, Baruay / Candie, Maunds / Manungu and the smaller Vis / Visaya.

  • 1 Varahun = 52 ¾ English Troy Grän = 3.4182 grams (= 3.38573 grams)
  • 1 Maund / Manungu = 8 Visay / Vis = 320 Pollams = 3200 Varahuns
  • 10 Varahuns = 1 Pollam , 40 Pollams = 1 Vis or Visay
