Wardapet

Wardapet ( Armenian Վարդապետ ) is an elevated clerical title in the Armenian Apostolic Church and means "master", "teacher" or "teacher" in German. The name is traced back to Mesrop and Katholikos Sahak . A wardapet is a priest monk consecrated with his own rite who, after demanding theological studies , can take on certain tasks in the church: preaching, teaching in a diocese , diocesan administration, he can take part in episcopal jurisdiction through delegation. There are fourteen levels. Today Wardapet is also an honorary title.
