Variable data printing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The variable data printing (variable-data printing, VDP) is a form of digital printing in which elements (text, images, graphics) of the printing units to be changed individually.

VDP is mainly used in cross-media publishing, when marketing campaigns incorporate modern media in addition to traditional printing. For example, a postcard can use the recipient's name in the body of the text and also have name-dependent photo mutations in order to attract attention.
