Patriotic papers for the Austrian imperial state

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vaterländische Blätter for the Austrian Imperial State was a newspaper that appeared in Vienna from 1808 to 1814 . A supplement to the first issue contains the “plan of this magazine”: The purpose of these sheets is: to familiarize the inhabitants of the kais- königl hereditary states with themselves and to promote patriotism through patriotism.

The frequency of publication was sometimes irregular, it was planned twice a week. In the imprint, Johann Michael Armbruster was named as editors until 1813 and Franz Sartori until 1814 . The Vaterländische Blätter were initially printed by the publisher Josef Vinzenz Degen, and from 1811 to 1814 by Anton Strauss. The newspaper was not published from April 18, 1809 to January 5, 1810 due to the war, which has caused the year counts to be postponed.

The newspaper was continued twice a week from January 4, 1815 to December 27, 1820 under the title “Renewed Fatherland Papers for the Austrian Imperial State”. In this the "Chronicle of Austrian Literature" is published as a supplement.
