Veikko Paatero

Kaarlo Veikko Paatero (born August 22, 1903 in Helsinki ; † 1986 ) was a Finnish mathematician who dealt with function theory .

After completing his studies, Paatero was initially a teacher of mathematics, physics and chemistry, was a lecturer at the University of Helsinki from 1932 and received his doctorate in Helsinki in 1938 (On the conformal mapping of areas whose edges are of limited rotation). Afterwards he was assistant professor and later professor there. He was a student of Rolf Nevanlinna .

In 1936 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Oslo (on analytical transformations which merge two pairs of marginal arcs).
