Kazimieras Velžys
Kazimieras Velžys (born May 5, 1938 in Sindriūnai , Rajongemeinde Pasvalys ) is a Lithuanian politician and former mayor of the Rajongemeinde Varėna .
Life
In 1951 his family was deported to Tomsk Oblast . From 1956 she lived in Lithuania again. The family was not rehabilitated until 1980. After graduating from high school in Pasvalys in 1959 , Kazimieras Velžys did compulsory service in the Soviet Army . In 1967 he graduated from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija with a degree in hydrotechnology . After that he worked in Varėna . From 1979 to 1995 he was a senior engineer.
From 1981 to 1989 he was a member of the CPSU , from 1993 of the Tėvynės Sąjunga - Lietuvos krikščionys demokratai .
From 1995 to 1997 he was the mayor of Varėna Rajong Municipality .
