The heel-shaped cairn (heel-shaped cairn ) of Vementry located on the north side of Mainland on the uninhabited Shetland Vementry in Scotland . It is listed as a Scheduled Monument .

Heel-shaped Cairns usually have cruciform chambers and are a form of megalithic complex that is widespread in Scotland , primarily in Caithness and Sutherland ( Cairns of Camster ) and on the Shetland Islands .

The well-preserved Neolithic cairn is about 10 m in diameter and over 1.5 m high. The cruciform chamber, which is reached via a short corridor, has a large niche in the head area and two smaller ones on the sides.
