Veneneia is the second largest crater on the asteroid Vesta at 52 ° south latitude.

Its diameter is 395 km, 70% of the diameter of Vesta at the equator. It's at least 2 billion years old and was discovered by the Dawn spacecraft in 2011. Nevertheless, it is covered and destroyed by the even larger crater Rheasilvia . It was named after Venēneia , one of the vestal virgins .

Vesta has several fractures in the northern hemisphere, circular around Veneneia, it is believed that there are large-format pressure fractures of the impact. The largest fracture is Saturnalia Fossa .
