Association of diabetes advisory and training professions in Germany

The Association of Diabetes Advisory and Training Professions in Germany e. V. (VDBD) is a German association based in Düsseldorf . The association is a solidarity and interest group of diabetes advisors DDG , diabetes assistants DDG and similar specialists in connection with diabetes mellitus and associated diseases.

The association was founded in 1992 with 71 members. In 2015 there were around 3,800 members. The chairman is Nicola Haller.

Through its commitment, the association would like to enable a better quality of life, a better life perspective and a higher life expectancy for people with diabetes. In addition, the association is committed to basic health policy measures that make it possible to detect diabetes mellitus at an early stage and provide qualified treatment. The members undertake that their training courses and advice are based on the current scientific standards of diabetology and education.
