Association of Conference Interpreters
The Association of Conference Interpreters ( abbr. VKD, full name: Association of Conference Interpreters in the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) eV) is a professional association for conference interpreters and a member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators. There he has the status of a regional association .
The VKD emerged in 2003 from the BDÜ's "professional group conference interpreters", which had existed since 1993, and is a registered association . He represents the interests of currently more than 700 members (as of January 2020) who work as conference interpreters. The association bodies are the board of directors , the regional committee, the admission committee and the speakers of the various departments.
