Association of Security Companies in Austria
The Association of Security Companies Austria (VSÖ) is an independent association founded in 1975 of security companies in the fields of security services , mechanical / mechatronic security devices and electronic security systems .
The VSÖ created u. a. Guidelines for high-quality security, these apply where there are either no or too few specifications for products and systems. The best known guidelines are the OVE guideline R 2 for alarm systems, the OVE guideline R 9 for video surveillance and the OVE guideline R 10 for access control systems.
The association also ensures that these guidelines are implemented: This is done by means of seminars, assembly audits and certified installation and assembly companies or fitters who have been appropriately trained and checked.
The VSÖ also maintains a freely accessible database with all approved electronic and mechanical products that meet the current standards and the applicable safety standards of the VSÖ.
VSÖ security classes for safes
In the area of mechanical / mechatronic security devices, the VSÖ publishes maximum coverage recommendations for EN-tested secure storage units (safes). The respective classifications in a VSÖ-EN security class provide information about the resistance of the tested products and their security classification. These maximum amounts of cover will only be accepted by the insurance companies after proof of manufacturer-compliant fastening of the safe in the form of an assembly confirmation.
